Decem 1 Comment. Mountain bikers seem to have sorted it out, finally; 29" for flat-out speed and 27.5" for a fun, playful ride. Although rim diameters mirror the MTB debate, the gravel garble over 700C vs 6560B is not as straight-forward.A28" tire is not the same size as 700c. 28" is slightly larger than 700c maybe less than half an inch in diameter. Since this amount is insignificant in size of tire; people may install 700c tires on 28" rim and vice versa. I would not do it. On European websites you find tires for 28" categories and 700c categories.
Real27 inch wheels and tires can still be found, but are generally only featured on older bikes (and do not fit on ‘700c’ rims). 650c: The smaller size for road and triathlon wheels. 26”: The smaller size for mountain bike wheels (and, until recently, it was the only size readily available). 29”: The larger size for mountain bike wheels.
