Upon use, a vendor window opens which allows you to buy an item. After buying one, the list locks until the next day. The available items change every day.
Ascended gear can only be obtained through crafting, some rare loot and a few achievements. And strikes, raid and map currencies, the far easiest and cheapest way to get them. Pvp and wvw also have methods of aquiring ascended gear. You can buy the materials, including the time gated components, off the trading post and just craft it.The free piece from The Sun is Silent for This One, is nice, but it's probably harder then just crafting your sixth piece of ascended gear the old fashioned way. Just make sure you're farming difluorite crystals every day and doing your ascended refinement and you'll get your set.
Select "Recipe: Wupwup Celestial Insignia" from the list. Then purchase and use each of the six ascended armor piece recipes from the last tab of the master craftsman. Use each of those, selecting the "WupWup" option for each. Consume all of the above recipes on the appropriate character. Which requires you to have Ascended Gear already so its progression is closely tied to your Ascended Gearing progress. Do these low-tier fractals every day for a few weeks and you should have enough for two Rings. Theoretically if nobody will defend Stonemist Castle, you could solo open SMC in about 6 minutes. So the build is actually good when there is not much enemy players around. It is also reasonably good in large blob/zerg fights as you can provide so much AoE pressure and do so many unblockable AoEs with 4-kits.
It gets easier the more stuff you do. The first set is always the hardest. You can get Ascended gear from most endgame things. A lot of routes require crafting for on demand gear.
