You will re-visit the inaugural role of Gordon Freeman and his memorable journey through the Black Mesa Research Facility. Expect detailed environments to explore, a huge cast of characters and experimental weaponry. All-new music, voice acting, choreography and added dialogue give way to a more expansive and immersive Yes and no. It’s full of details. After all, the Half-Life series is renowned for its deep and consistent worldbuilding, but compared to the original Half-Life, it does feel a little bit shallow in the places that matter most to me. I remember a few years ago, back when Black Mesa was a free mod, the amount of HECU soldiers was utterly insane. OP isn’t asking if half life is worth getting, only if it’s worth getting on steam, or if steam versions are buggy compared to a metaphorical out of the box versions.
